"A Private Knowing"

"A Private Knowing", 2026

Edition of 30 prints. Each labeled, numbered and signed by hand.

The snapdragon holds its secrets well.  Velvet-soft, almost fragile, until squeezed. Then its petals part like quiet jaws, the dragon revealed. Even in decay, a skull remains, delicate and unflinching.

A bloom that remembers its shadow.  In floriography, it carried a private knowing of offering trust while still acknowledging everything good and bad that lives beneath the surface. The courage to exist in both grace and fire in the eyes of yourself and others.

This piece leans into that tension with light and reflective graphite emerging from the velvet dark of carbon pencil.  The dragon appearing only long enough to disappear again.
